CoolRoof: a cooler, sealed roof without a full replacement.

CoolRoof is a fully elastic rubber roof coating that adheres to almost all roofing materials. The light-coloured surface protects and seals the roof, extends its lifespan and lowers roof temperature, at a fraction of the cost of a complete roof replacement. It is aimed especially at commercial properties and housing companies.

The technology

One seamless rubber membrane over the existing roof.

The coating is 100% rubber and contains no bitumen or water, so it does not become brittle or crack the way bitumen or acrylic paint products can. It goes on over the existing roof with no production interruptions, no structural dismantling and no hot work.

Affordable

Priced well below a traditional roof renovation. A coated roof is durable, seamless and 100% tight.

Energy efficient

The light-coloured surface lowers roof temperature and air conditioning costs. Thermal expansion of a coated roof is reduced by 25%, and corrosion development stops.

Durable

With no bitumen or water in the material, the coating stays elastic. Its elongation is about 900%.

Lightweight

On an old bitumen roof the coating adds about 1 kg/m², compared with about 25 kg/m² for another bitumen layer.

Quick to install

No hot work and no problematic waste. The roof is waterproof within 1 to 4 hours after installation.

Low maintenance

Aftercare is easy and no large tools are needed for sealing. Installations carry a 10-year tightness guarantee.

Materials meet the requirements of the EN 1504-2 standard, per Cool Roof Europe.
